Introduction
Alloy Cast Steel Roll is made of eutectoid steel and hypereutectoid steel. Alloy content greater than 0.8%, carbon content 0.4~1.3, Cr, Ni, Mo, V is added, matrix structure goes through heat treatment of normalizing and tempering, becoming sorbite and tempered sorbite. This type of mill roll has good strength, generally used for blooming and slab mills, section steel & bar wire rough rolling mill, etc. When the heat treatment system is the same, the wear resistance of cast steel roll is better than that of forging steel roll with the same composition, but the toughness is lower. Compare with forging steel roll, the cast steel roll is lower manufacturing cost.
Alloy steel rolls normally employ monoblock casting process (single pour): Melting-Casting-Heat treatment-Machining- Flaw detection- Finished products.
